Terms of Use

Effective date: July 2, 2026 · Last updated: July 2, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Hollar (“Hollar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of our websites (including hollar.ai), the free AI visibility scan and audit tools, and our paid Monitor, Get Found, and Get Found Plus services (collectively, the “Services”). Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Who May Use the Services

The Services are for business use by people who are at least 18 years old and can form a binding contract. If you use the Services on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that business to these Terms, and “you” refers to both you and that business. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials confidential.

2. What the Services Do

Hollar provides AI search visibility (“answer engine optimization”) tools that analyze how businesses appear in answers generated by third-party AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, and that recommend and (on paid plans) implement improvements. The Services include:

  • Quick Scan — a free, instant snapshot that asks one representative question of each supported AI assistant, run once per engine, and returns a directional result;
  • Free Full Audit — a one-time, more rigorous report that asks multiple buyer questions across multiple AI assistants, multiple times each, plus an AI-readiness check, and returns a grade and prioritized fix list;
  • Paid plans — Monitor (continuous scoring, alerts, competitor tracking, and a full self-implementation fix list), Get Found (Monitor plus done-for-you implementation and monthly re-scans), and Get Found Plus (Get Found plus content, competitor-displacement work, and strategy calls).

3. Nature of Results; No Guarantee of Rankings or Outcomes

AI assistant outputs are non-deterministic and vary by location, wording, and time. Results may differ if the same question is asked again, from a different place, or on a different day. Quick Scan results reflect a single question run once per engine and are directional only — they are not your official grade. Full audit results are based on more questions and repetitions but remain point-in-time snapshots.

Hollar does not control any third-party AI assistant, search engine, listing provider, or review platform, and does not guarantee any particular ranking, mention, visibility, grade, lead volume, call volume, revenue, or other outcome. Changes to reviews, business listings, and website signals typically take weeks to propagate into AI answers; we generally describe expected timeframes as 30–90 days, and no specific result is promised. Any statements about typical results are illustrative, not a promise of your results.

We are not responsible for the accuracy of statements that third-party AI assistants make about any business, including statements our scans surface. If an AI assistant states something incorrect about a business, that is a characteristic of the assistant, not a defect in the Services.

4. Accounts, Free Scans, and Acceptable Use

You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Services only for lawful business purposes. You may run a free Full Audit for a given business on a limited basis (generally once per business, or once every 60–90 days); repeated or continuous scanning is what the paid Monitor plan is for. You agree not to:

  • Use automated means to submit scans in bulk, circumvent rate limits, or otherwise abuse the unauthenticated scan forms;
  • Scan businesses in order to harass, defame, or compete unfairly, or submit information you have no right to submit;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or related systems;
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or create derivative products from the Services, our reports, or our methodology, except as permitted by law;
  • Use the Services to violate any applicable law or the terms of any third-party platform (including AI assistants and listing providers).

We may suspend or terminate access, refuse service, or cancel accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are abusing the Services.

5. Fees, Billing, and Minimum Terms

5.1 Plans and pricing

Paid plans are offered on a subscription basis. Current pricing includes Monitor at $49 per month (or $249 per year), Get Found at $795 per month plus a one-time $750 setup fee, and Get Found Plus at $1,495 per month. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change on a going-forward basis; changes will not affect the current paid period of an existing subscription.

5.2 Setup fees and minimum commitment

The Get Found plan includes a one-time $750 setup fee and a three-month minimum commitment that reflects the time required for review, listing, and website changes to propagate into AI answers. By subscribing to Get Found, you agree to pay for at least the three-month minimum term even if you cancel earlier, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

5.3 Recurring billing and renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew for successive periods (monthly or annual, as selected) until cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for the applicable fees, setup fees, and taxes. It is your responsibility to keep your payment information current.

5.4 Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel renewal at any time through your account or by contacting support@hollar.ai; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid period, and, for Get Found, no earlier than the end of the three-month minimum. Except where required by law, fees already paid (including setup fees and minimum-term amounts) are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods or unused Services.

5.5 Taxes and failed payments

You are responsible for any applicable sales, use, or similar taxes. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge, suspend the Services, and pursue amounts owed. We may also charge reasonable costs of collection to the extent permitted by law.

6. Done-for-You Services

On Get Found and Get Found Plus, we implement certain improvements on your behalf (for example, review-generation systems, business-listing optimization, citation and NAP consistency, schema, and website AI-readiness changes). To do this, you grant us permission and, where needed, access to the relevant accounts and properties. These may include your website, hosting, DNS, and domain registrar; your content management system; your Google Business Profile; your Yelp, Apple Maps, Bing Places, and other directory or citation listings; your review platform accounts; and your social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram (together, your “Properties”). You represent that you have authority to grant that access. You remain the owner and the responsible operator of your Properties, content, and business at all times, and we act only as your limited authorized agent, for the tasks included in your plan, and only on the Properties you give us access to. Section 7 governs responsibility for your Properties.

7. Responsibility for Your Properties

Backups and existing condition. You are responsible for keeping current backups of your website, content, and data before you give us access and for as long as we have it. We do not provide backup, disaster recovery, hosting, security, or site maintenance services. We are not responsible for the condition of a Property as we find it, including existing defects, malware, outdated software or plugins, expired domains or certificates, broken integrations, or work done by you or by any earlier or concurrent vendor.

No liability for the Properties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, downtime, data loss or corruption, suspension, deletion, deindexing, loss of ranking or visibility, loss of reviews, followers, or content, lost leads or revenue, or other harm to or arising from any Property, including where it results from: (a) the acts, policies, or decisions of a platform operator such as Google, Yelp, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Apple, Microsoft, or an AI model provider, including account suspension or restriction, verification failure, listing merges or removals, review filtering or removal, algorithm or policy changes, API changes, and outages; (b) failures, updates, or incompatibilities in hosting, plugins, themes, content management systems, or other software; (c) hacking, malware, phishing, credential compromise, or other unauthorized access that we did not cause; (d) changes made by you, your staff, or any other vendor, contractor, or agent, whether before, during, or after we work with you; (e) expiration, non-renewal, transfer, or loss of your domain, hosting account, certificate, or platform account; or (f) information, content, or claims you supplied or approved.

What we do stand behind. This section does not limit our responsibility for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct. If a change we made to a Property causes a defect or an outage, our sole obligation, and your sole remedy, is that we will use commercially reasonable efforts to reverse or correct that change promptly and at no additional charge.

Credentials, access, and after we finish. Where a platform supports it, we will ask for delegated or role-based access (for example, a manager role on your Google Business Profile or a role in your Meta Business Manager) rather than your password. Where you choose to share credentials instead, you do so at your own risk, and you confirm you have the right to share them. We will keep them confidential and use them only to provide the Services. You may revoke our access at any time; if you do, we may be unable to provide parts of the Services, and fees continue to accrue. On termination or cancellation you should promptly change or revoke any credentials you shared with us. After that date we are not responsible for any Property and have no obligation to maintain, monitor, restore, or remove work previously published to one.

8. Customer Content and Permissions

You retain ownership of the content and information you provide or that exists on your own properties (“Customer Content”). You grant Hollar a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, copy, analyze, and process Customer Content and publicly available information about your business as needed to provide the Services, including submitting relevant details to third-party AI assistants and listing providers. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license.

9. Hollar Intellectual Property

The Services, including our software, scan and audit methodology, scoring rubrics, report formats, question libraries, text, graphics, and the Hollar name and logo, are owned by Hollar or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services and to use the reports we deliver to you for your own internal business purposes. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, publicly redistribute, or use our reports or methodology to build a competing product. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. Third-Party Services

The Services rely on and interoperate with third parties, including AI assistants, listing and map providers, review platforms, and payment processors. Your use of those third parties may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content, and we do not endorse statements that third-party AI assistants generate.

11. Disclaimers

The Services, including all scans, audits, scores, reports, and recommendations, are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hollar disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, availability, security, or the results you will obtain from using the Services. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any AI assistant will mention, recommend, or accurately describe your business.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hollar and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost revenue, lost leads, lost business, or loss of data, arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Hollar for the Services in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hollar and its owners, employees, and suppliers from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your Customer Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Term, Suspension, and Termination

These Terms apply while you use the Services. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms, if we discontinue the Services, or as we reasonably deem necessary to protect the Services or other users. You may stop using the Services at any time, subject to the billing and minimum-term provisions in Section 5. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7–12, 14, and 15) will survive.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Except for either party's right to seek injunctive relief, any dispute arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, to the extent permitted by law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

17. General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Hollar regarding the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship.
